Upon its inception, the bank 's trading office was only a center for adjustment of trading positions and fund management, with traders responsible for passively accepting foreign exchange positions from branches and adjusting trading positions accordingly. Afterwards, the trading office gradually embraced the concept of sales service, according to which traders would visit clients along with colleagues of the corporate banking department to offer clients tailor-made products. Presently, traders responsible for marketing financial products at our Financial Markets Department have outnumbered interbank traders.
Rollout of New Products to Strengthen Competitiveness
Financial derivatives used to be the domain of foreign banks, but clients have become increasingly receptive to financial derivatives offered by Far Eastern Bank, thanks to our efficient service. While most domestic banks still stick with offering traditional trading office service, FEIB's Financial Markets Department has undergone major changes by emulating foreign bank practices.
Creation of Niche Market via Constant Innovation and Progress

Starting with our Treasury Marketing Unit (TMU), the bank ' s Financial Markets Department has instituted marketing teams for various financial services we offer, such as margin trading and asset swaps, offering comprehensive services for constant rollout of new financial products. Unlike financial products per se, the bank ' s corporate culture cannot be emulated easily, thereby we are focused on enabling the Financial Markets Department to attain constant progress via continuous innovation and creation of niche businesses. |
