As a mid-sized bank, innovation is the key to maintain our competitive edge. FX margin trading desk provides 7/24 trading services to help our clients grasp every trading opportunity to profit. Its internet trading platforms covers desktop and mobile devices. We are the first and only one among Taiwanese banks to grant customers with such convenient trading tools. CB asset swap desk also leads the industry with providing option investor electronic trading channels. Transactions via electronic platforms represented half of trades for both FX margin trading desk and CB asset swap desk.
In addition to providing corporate clients with FX hedging products, TMU desk product managers also screen structured products to suit the investment needs of wealth management customers and institutional clients, bringing the variety of financial products to the right clientele.
Credit derivative desk engages in credit derivative products to take reasonable credit risk, enabling our bank to reach to the areas such as China and Asean countries where we don’t have physical branches.

Compliance and Internal Control:
In today’s highly regulation oriented financial environments, Financial Markets Group puts compliance and internal control in prior priority. Independent compliance officers are deployed to help the Financial Markets Group duly conduct business. Risk management and settlement department report to independent supervisors. Trading limits and marking to market reviews are conducted in a real time basis. Anti-Money Laundering screening is also executed daily in accordance with the Bank’s customer database.

Challenge and Vision:
The prolonged low rate environments bring more challenges to the bank. In the foreseeable future, market volatility will only be more turbulent then ever and the regulations will be more demanding. We will be keen to select the right products for the right customers. Justification must be made among risk, revenue and capital charge. Accrued basis products which bring consistent investment revenue will be a bonus to the customer and the bank. With a tradition of innovation, the group will continue to focus on niche markets. Since the talents are our key to success, the addition of the best professionals and proper reorganizing is crucial to our future growth.
